Some Repair Work along Checkley Lane

Last week the Checkley Lane at the Wrinehill end was closed for part of Thursday.  It was eventually discovered that parts of the eroded sides of the Lane were repaired.  The material did not look like tarmac but some kind of composite, and the work looked a little more comprehensive than we have been used to.  Hopefully it will last longer.  It was noted that the edges of the repair had not been sealed so it will be interesting to see if that makes a difference.  anyway, the areas adjacent to the puddle have been improved for now, so many thanks.

However, it was noted that both grids under the bridge at the Wrinehill end are now solidly blocked and need  a de-sludge if flooding in this  area is to be prevented during the next episode of heavy rain.

It was also noted that water is still coming from the area of the telecom mast and feeding into the grid at the side of the road.  This could be as a result of a burst pipe or an interrupted natural spring.  Whichever, the contractors who installed the mast either need to report it or sort it - which would be both useful and helpful.
